OKAY I’M JUST GOING TO GET ALL MY PEETA FEELINGS OUT OKAY
SO LET’S LOOK AT THIS FROM HIS POINT OF VIEW
HE LOVES THIS GIRL. HE LOVES HER A LOT. HE RISKS HIS OWN WELL BEING TO GIVE HER BREAD. HE THEN THINKS ABOUT THAT INSTANCE ALL THE TIME.
AND THEN WHEN THEY’RE BOTH REAPED, HE SEES HER VOLUNTEER FOR THE PERSON SHE LOVES MOST OF ALL. A LOVE THAT HE’S NEVER REALLY KNOWN OTHER THAN HIS LOVE FOR HER. HIS MOTHER TELLS HIM THAT SHE THINKS THERE WILL BE A VICTOR BUT HE KNOWS HE DOESN’T MEAN HER. AND HE CRIES BECAUSE HE KNOWS SHE’S RIGHT. AND HE KNOWS THAT HE HAS TO LEAVE THIS WORLD WITHOUT KATNISS EVER KNOWING HOW HE REALLY FEELS.
BUT OH WAIT NO HE DOESN’T. HE DECIDES TO SACRIFICE HIMSELF FOR HER. FOR HER TO LIVE. FOR HER TO SEE HER FAMILY AGAIN. AND HE PROCLAIMS HIS LOVE FOR HER IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE NATION.
AND THEN HE JOINS THE CAREERS, KNOWING FULL WELL THAT WHEN THEY’RE DONE USING HIM, HE’S A GONER. AND HE LEADS THEM AWAY FROM HER AND CONTINUES TO PROTECT HER BECAUSE THAT’S HIS GOAL: TO LET KATNISS LIVE
BUT THEN THEY CAN BOTH WIN AND HE HAS SUDDEN HOPE THAT MAYBE THEY CAN BE TOGETHER. A HOPE THAT ONLY INTENSIFIES WHEN SHE FINDS HIM. AND THEY SPEND TIME IN THE CAVE TOGETHER, SHARING STORIES AND SECRETS AND KISSES. AND HE’S STARTING TO BELIEVE THAT SHE COULD POSSIBLY FEEL THE SAME WAY THAT HE DOES.
BUT THEN. SHE DOESN’T. SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT SHE FEELS. AND SHE WANTS THINGS TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. BUT THAT’S THE LAST THING HE WANTS.
SOMEONE HOLD ME BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY PEETA FEELINGS LIKE REALLY HE IS SUCH AN INNOCENT KID WHO HAS THE PUREST OF HEARTS AND GREATEST OF INTENTIONS WHOSE WILLING TO SACRIFICE HIMSELF FOR A GIRL HE LOVES
